I had this Victorian rope leg antique lamp table sitting in my basement, I painted it a couple different colors, and it was just not working for me. Awhile back a women I work with gave me a Mackenzie-Childs magazine, because she wanted to show me some dishes she wanted to order. So, after I painted the table for the third time and hated it, I glanced over and saw the magazine and thought to myself.....hmmmmmm
And there you have it, my Mackenzie-Childs inspired lamp table.
My son came into the basement while I was waxing the table, and said, wow that's awesome,
do we have any giant checkers?
I painted the table with ASCP, Aubusson Blue, Arles, Old White & Graphite. The Arles is very subtle, if you look at the checkers you will see some of it under the white. I hand painted the gold using
liquid leaf and I finished with clear wax.
The table is currently for sale at KDM Antiques,
I am hopeful that who ever buys it,likes chess.

I LOVE this. So unique and beautfiul!

ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! I love the little detail on the legs especially. What a great job you did! Thanks for sharing! -K
ReplyDeleteHello, I'm a new follower and found you at Wow Us Wednesdays. This is such a lovely table. I love your color choices and attention to details. I also love your photo, first time I can really see what ASCP's Old White looks like. This really inspires me to redo a table I painted a couple of weeks and just not quite satisfied with. The legs are very similar to these. Thanks so much for sharing. Would love if you'd share and link it at my Frugal Treasures Tuesday party. : )
ReplyDeleteGreat make over. Thanks for sharing at Wow.
