A New Old Door

I am obsessed with cupboards, mostly old ones, but I only like those for myself.  I was given a cupboard, that was not so old, and it had these doors that no matter what I did they would not line up straight, I decided I wanted the panels removed from the doors, not such a great idea, I ruined them.  So, bye bye old doors.

On to plan B, I built one new door.

This door is what I would call, Beginner door, no clue what I was doing door or
please don't fall apart when I open you door.

I wanted the door to have a rustic imperfect look, like an old pantry.

It did come with shelves in it, but they were only being held in with little metal brackets, not very practical, so I measured the inside panels and cut 2" pieces of pine to support the shelves,
then I nailed them down with my air gun.

Here it is all finished, I used left over chicken wire for inside the door panel.

I painted the inside with Tranquil Blue from Benjamin Moore, and the outside is ASCP Pure White.

I like how it turned out, and yes the door works......WooooooHoooooo.

  5. Woohoo!!! Way to go! I recently damaged some doors of a cabinet I'm making over for my kitchen, but don't think I want to tackle making new ones. I'm going to try and repair the damage; after all, I don't think it will show anyway after painting. lol
